# Remolo: Mac Remote & Trackpad > Remolo is an iPhone and iPad app (iOS 18+) with a free menu-bar Mac companion, Remolo Helper (any Mac on macOS 15+: MacBook, iMac, Mac mini, Mac Studio, Mac Pro), and an Apple Watch app (watchOS 11+, Pro). It lets you control a Mac from your phone at home and, with Pro, from anywhere over the internet: trackpad, keyboard, the Mac's screen, files and clipboard, a presentation clicker, a media remote and a panel of custom buttons. No accounts, end-to-end encryption (Curve25519 key exchange, HKDF-SHA256, ChaCha20-Poly1305). The iPhone app is not in the App Store yet; it is coming soon. Remolo Helper 1.0 for Mac can be downloaded now from https://remolo.app/download (macOS 15+, Apple silicon and Intel, signed and notarized by Apple). Developer and seller: KIRIL TREITIAK. Support: support@remolo.app; general and press: hello@remolo.app. Connecting: at home the phone and the Mac talk directly over the local network, or peer to peer when there is no shared Wi‑Fi (Wi‑Fi and Bluetooth on). The first connection needs a 6-digit code or QR code from the Mac's screen, or, when the Mac is not nearby, a one-time link from the Helper menu ("iPhone not nearby? Use a link"): the phone shows the Mac's name and connects nothing until you confirm; the link works once and is then deleted. One phone can hold several Macs (free), switched with one tap; Remolo recognises each Mac by its own key, not by network or IP. A pause button in the Mac's menu bar turns off control and the screen. Modes: - Trackpad (free): smooth cursor, tap to click, two-finger right click and scroll with momentum, real pinch zoom, hold-to-drag; keyboard in any language with dictation, ⌘⌥⌃⇧, esc, tab, arrows, F1–F12; the Mac's Dock (pinned and open apps, search finds closed apps). The phone also works as the trackpad for Macs that have none. Pro: 3- and 4-finger gestures that follow the Mac's settings, or 11 custom gestures; 21 shortcut keys; text sent as a block; surface-only view; landscape on iPhone (iPad is always free). Pro: the Mac's screen on the phone, assembled from dots above the trackpad, with a 1×–5× magnifier near the cursor and a display switcher. - Slides (free): tap right for next, left for back, swipes, start the show, stopwatch, a black curtain on the Mac; works with Keynote, PowerPoint, Google Slides, Preview/PDF. Pro: a countdown limit with a silent buzz 2 minutes before the end, pocket mode with the volume buttons, gyro laser pointer, spotlight, marker (7 colours, display choice), your own picture or video as the curtain, speaker notes from Keynote and PowerPoint only. - Cinema (free): a Film / Music switch; tap to pause, swipe to skip ±10 s in a film or change tracks in music, drag for volume, double tap for full screen, subtitles; artwork and title from any player, even YouTube in a browser. Pro: scrubbing the progress bar, a sleep timer (15–120 min; the Mac pauses and sleeps). - Buttons: 6 free buttons in one profile, also editable on the Mac. Pro: unlimited buttons in pages, profiles that switch with the frontmost Mac app, chains of actions (also recorded on the Mac), photos and GIFs, AppleScript and Shell (the Mac must allow scripts), and a gallery of ready-made profiles: Figma, Keynote, Photoshop, Final Cut Pro, a browser (Chrome), VS Code, Finder, Spotify. - Terminal (Pro, opt-in on both the iPhone and the Mac): your zsh in the Mac's home folder. Access from anywhere (Pro): turn it on from 🌐 in the Helper menu or Settings → Security; the Mac can stay ready to connect (it does not sleep by itself; a closed lid or flat battery still sleeps it). Traffic goes through the Remolo relay on Cloudflare, which only passes end-to-end encrypted data and stores nothing, or directly when the router allows. Route: Auto / Home / Internet. Over the internet the Mac's screen is smaller with fewer frames — for control and checking, not full remote desktop work. Guest access (owner needs Pro, the guest does not): a one-time link for 1 hour, 1 day or 7 days. Guests may get trackpad and keyboard, slides and media (on by default) and the Mac's screen (off by default); files, clipboard, terminal, button actions and scripts, sleep/lock, quitting apps and button profiles are never available. The Mac enforces the rules, drops an expired guest within 15 seconds, and the owner can end access at any time. The link carries a 256-bit secret after the "#" (never sent to the server) that burns on the first wrong attempt; an unused link lasts a day at most; guests use a separate temporary relay room. Files and clipboard (Pro): browse the Mac's Desktop, Documents, Downloads and home folder and open files on the iPhone; send photos, videos and files to the Mac's Downloads. Clipboard: what the Mac copied waits in the "•••" menu (auto-copy is off by default); iPhone → Mac with a paste button; items password managers mark as concealed never leave the Mac. Beyond the app (Pro): Apple Watch clicker with a talk timer (the Crown flips slides), a Live Activity with the timer and ← → on the Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island, widgets (up to 8 buttons, Now Playing on the Mac, Mac status), Control Center and Action button controls, Siri and Shortcuts (Siri phrases in English only, e.g. "Next slide in Remolo", "Lock my computer with Remolo"), 7 app icons. Free: light and dark theme, iPad with the same purchase, onboarding tours and an in-app Guide, VoiceOver labels and larger text in most screens. Languages: the app and this site are in Ukrainian, English, German, French and Spanish. Feedback ("Something wrong?"): shake the phone or use the "•••" menu. A report holds a random install ID, the text, the language and technical details; an email or screenshot only if added. Only the developer reads reports (they reach him via Telegram); they are never sold or shared, are kept 180 days and can be deleted from the server at once ("Delete all my reports"). Each confirmed and reproduced bug earns a code for a month of Pro (up to 6 a year); the third brings a year of Pro and Remolo Insider status. An Insider's name appears in the site's thanks only if they add it, and can be removed any time. Rewards never depend on App Store ratings or reviews. Crash reports are sent only with consent (iPhone: Ask / Always / Never; Mac: off by default), hold technical data only (version, model, stack trace) and are kept 90 days. Pricing: free forever with no ads. Remolo Pro: $2.99/month or $14.99/year. Only the yearly plan has a free trial: 7 days through the App Store. Family Sharing works with the yearly plan only. No one-time purchase. Remolo shows what Pro offers once after the first connection, after the first talk and when you tap a Pro feature; never at launch. ## Pages (English at /, Ukrainian at /uk/, German at /de/, French at /fr/, Spanish at /es/) - [Home](https://remolo.app/) - [Get started](https://remolo.app/start) - [Remolo Helper for Mac](https://remolo.app/download) - [Trackpad](https://remolo.app/trackpad) - [Slides](https://remolo.app/slides) - [Cinema](https://remolo.app/cinema) - [Buttons and chains](https://remolo.app/buttons) - [Security](https://remolo.app/security) - [Pro](https://remolo.app/pro) - [Help](https://remolo.app/help) - [Support](https://remolo.app/support) - [Compare with Remote Mouse, Mobile Mouse, Unified Remote, Keynote Remote, Jump Desktop and Screens](https://remolo.app/compare) - [Guides](https://remolo.app/guides) - [Press kit](https://remolo.app/press) - [Privacy](https://remolo.app/privacy) - [Terms](https://remolo.app/terms) - [70-second demo video on YouTube](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FxRzKH3CNrg) - [YouTube channel](https://www.youtube.com/@RemoloApp) ## Guides (step-by-step answers) - [How to control a Mac mini from your iPhone, at home and remotely](https://remolo.app/control-mac-mini-from-iphone) - [How to check from your phone whether Claude Code has finished](https://remolo.app/check-claude-code-from-phone) - [How to use your iPhone as a trackpad for your Mac](https://remolo.app/iphone-as-mac-trackpad) - [How to advance Keynote and PowerPoint slides from your iPhone](https://remolo.app/iphone-presentation-remote) - [How to get a file from your Mac when you are not at home](https://remolo.app/get-file-from-mac-remotely) - [How to give someone temporary access to your Mac](https://remolo.app/give-someone-access-to-your-mac) A fuller version with the text of every English page: https://remolo.app/llms-full.txt
