Remolo: Mac Remote & Trackpad
Short
Remolo lets you control your Mac from an iPhone or iPad — at home and from anywhere over the internet: a trackpad, keyboard, the Mac’s screen, files and clipboard, a slide clicker, a movie remote and a panel of your own buttons. No accounts, end-to-end encrypted.
Long
Remolo is an iPhone and iPad app with a free Remolo Helper in the Mac’s menu bar and an Apple Watch app. Any Mac works: MacBook, iMac, Mac mini, Mac Studio or Mac Pro. Modes for different situations: Trackpad with MacBook gestures, a keyboard, the Dock and the Mac’s screen on the phone; Slides, a clicker for Keynote, PowerPoint, Google Slides and PDFs with a timer, a laser pointer, a marker and speaker notes from Keynote and PowerPoint; Cinema, a remote for films and music from any player, even YouTube in a browser; Buttons, your own actions, chains and ready-made profiles for popular apps; and Terminal for experienced users.
At home the phone and the Mac talk directly. With Remolo Pro the Mac is reachable from any network through a relay that only sees ciphertext; a Mac can be added with a one-time link, and someone else can get guest access for an hour, a day or a week. Files and the clipboard move both ways, and one phone holds several Macs. The app is available in Ukrainian, English, German, French and Spanish.
The basics are free with no ads. Remolo Pro is $2.99 a month or $14.99 a year; only the yearly plan has a free trial: 7 days through the App Store.
