How to check from your phone whether Claude Code has finished
In short: open Remolo on your iPhone and look at the Mac’s screen (Pro): the terminal with Claude Code is right there on the phone, and the magnifier enlarges the text up to 5×. If the agent is waiting for an answer, approve it or type a reply on the phone’s keyboard — the text goes straight into the terminal on the Mac. The same works for a build, a render or an export while you are away from your desk.

What you need
- A Mac with Remolo Helper and an iPhone or iPad with Remolo.
- Remolo Pro — for the Mac’s screen on your phone and access from any network.
- “Mac always ready to connect” turned on, so the Mac doesn’t fall asleep mid-task.
Step by step
Before you leave
In the Remolo Helper menu turn on 🌐 “Control this Mac from anywhere”, and in Settings → Security “Mac always ready to connect”. Now the Mac is reachable from any network.
Look at the screen
Open Remolo — the Mac’s screen assembles above the trackpad. Zoom into the terminal near the cursor with the magnifier; with several displays, switch to the right one.
Answer the agent
Move the cursor onto the terminal window, tap the trackpad to make it active and open Remolo’s keyboard: letters in any language, Return, Esc, arrows, ⌃C. Approve a step, pick an option or add an instruction — as if at the Mac’s keyboard.
Check the result
The Terminal mode (Pro; turned on separately on the iPhone and the Mac) is your zsh in the home folder:
git status, git log, logs. And a finished file opens right on the iPhone through Files.
Not only Claude Code
The same works for any long task on the Mac: an Xcode build, a render in Final Cut Pro or Blender, a video export, a big download, a model training run, any other agent or script in a terminal. Remolo shows what is on the Mac’s screen right now and gives you the keyboard — so it fits anything you can check with a glance.
A button instead of a command
A command you run every day can live on a button with Shell or AppleScript (Pro; the Mac must allow scripts in Settings → Security): one tap and the build or deploy starts on the Mac.
Honest limits
- Remolo doesn’t send a notification when a task finishes: you look whenever it suits you.
- The Terminal mode is a separate zsh session, not the window where Claude Code runs. To see that one, open the Mac’s screen.
- Over the internet the Mac’s screen is smaller with fewer frames — enough for checking and short replies.
- A closed MacBook lid or a flat battery puts the Mac to sleep, and it goes offline.
Questions
Can anyone see what is in my terminal?
No. The screen image and everything you type are encrypted on your devices; the Remolo relay only passes ciphertext along and stores nothing.
Does it work on an iPad?
Yes — the same app and the same purchase, and the terminal is even easier to read on the bigger screen.
Can I keep an eye on several Macs this way?
Yes: one Remolo can hold several Macs, and you switch between them with one tap.
